Dear whiskey enthusiasts around the world! Welcome to this blog, where you’ll find info related to the different types and brands of whiskey. In addition, there will be reviews on some select distilleries like this one (Boston Harbor) around the United States and other countries, as well as activities related to whiskey tasting and whiskey reviews.
I am delighted to begin this blog with my visit to the Boston Harbor Distillery on July 18, 2021. This relatively new distillery founded in 2012 South of Boston offers two types of tours, the Boston Sampler Tasting and the VIP Whiskey tour, which I am about to review.
Regarding the ambiance and space where the visit takes place, the main social area of the distillery is spacious with a medium size bar and a cabin look and feel. The production room is in the back of the main area where the mashing, fermentation tanks, and the spirits still are located. This distillery is relatively small giving you an opportunity to get close with the staff and owners. Overall, the ambiance was casual and fun with most of the crowd in its mid-30’s.
What are the best valued points of Boston Harbor Distillery
- The assortment of spirits is significant considering the size of the distillery making it interesting for a diverse set of preferences.
- Intimate experience with staff and owner with excellent service.
- The social area makes it a great place to celebrate with friends.
- The Putnam New England Straight Rye bottled at 43% ABV scored 89 points in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in 2018. I plan to review this whisky in the near future.
We would have liked to taste Bourbon on this tour. However, this distillery does not produce this kind of whisky.
Finally, we want to thank the hospitality and kindness of all the staff at Boston Harbor Distillery. In our official Instagram account, you can see some images of this tour, recommended for all aficionados of rum, whiskey, and gin, who’ll sure find something to enjoy during this experience.
