BOURBON

The story of whiskey in the United States dates to the late 1700s, with the founding of the American colonies. Corn and rye grew well in the vast territories of Pennsylvania and Virginia, making them ideal locations for whiskey production as surplus from the harvest.

America’s spirit is going through a golden era with many craft distilleries producing Bourbon, Tennessee, or Rye whiskey. According to the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, Kentucky accounts for 95% of the world’s Bourbon supply and about 68 distilleries as of 2018. An increase of 250% in the last decade. In 2009 there were only nine distilleries in Kentucky.

The product category is known for caramel, vanilla, toffee, and spicy notes. Check my Bourbon reviews here.

My mission is to provide a great educational and entertaining experience by guiding the tasting experience. Due to alcohol law in the state of Georgia, the host/hostess must make all alcohol purchases. However, whisky suggestions can be provided upon request.
