Teeling is a distillery based in Dublin, Ireland, founded in 2012 by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling. Their father, John Teeling, founded Cooley distillery in 1987 and sold it in 2012 to Jim Beam (Now Beam Suntory). As part of the deal, the brothers bought 16,000 casks of Cooley whiskey that would help them start the new Teeling distillery in 2015 while the new spirit was aging in the warehouses.
The Teeling family has a long tradition of whiskey distilling that started with Walter Teeling, an ancestor of the family who had established a distillery in Dublin in 1782.
Teeling distillery today is the first new distillery in Dublin for over 125 years and considered by whiskey experts one of the most innovative distilleries in Ireland, redefining the rules and flavors of what Irish Whiskey could be. A Phoenix represents the Teeling brand, symbolizing the renascence of Irish Whiskey in the city of Dublin.

Now the tasting notes for Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey.
Nose: Floral, vanilla, and citrus nose.
Palate: The entry flavor is herbal, orange, and malty with hints of vanilla and apple.
Finish: Medium. Wood and pepper provide a bitter finish.
Conclusion: This Irish Blend is aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished for 12 months in Central America rum casks. The sweet flavor is always present but can feel a little hot if you drink it neat. I like this whisky much more with an ice cube allowing me to enjoy the sweet and citrus flavors while bringing down the heat and wood notes imparted by the casks. This whisky won Double Gold in the category of Blended Irish Whiskey in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2019..
